Be who you want to be!TARGET-ARTS is the UK's first Drama Support Service, offering instruction in communication skills, acting, musical theatre, speech & drama through the LAMDA examinations board to children, young people and adults around South Wales and the English-Border Counties.
We offer tuition in a variety of dramatic (spoken) subjects within the school environment and in local community and charity groups, and organise unique drama-based projects whereby participants can display and develop their skills. |
For children, tuition can lead to valuable UCAS points that count towards University and College entry requirements. For adults, public-speaking, confidence, diction, projection and performance are all skills that are not only desirable in everyday life but are also actively sought by employers and look great listed on a CV.
Gwent Music Support Service is one of the largest and most successful of its kind in the UK and so it makes sense that the first UK Drama Support Service is also based in Gwent, although our tutors travel all over the area to teach. TARGET's aim is to get more people involved in the performing arts; we hope that the Drama Support Service will become as popular and prolific as its musical counterpart and that parents, students and teachers alike will soon begin to enjoy the many benefits that a fulfilling drama education can offer. We currently offer tuition to students across Newport, Monmouthshire, Torfaen, Blaenau-Gwent, Merthyr Tydfil, Cardiff, Gloucestershire and Herefordshire. We also collaborate with other providers to offer tuition further afield, as well as exciting, unique and innovative opportunities for performers to broaden their horizons. Our exam results really do speak volumes- 178 passes, 553 merits and 421 distinctions from 1,152 exam candidates. Have you tried our new Online Entry System yet?
